Dear Quashnet School Community,

Clubs! Clubs! After School Clubs!

There is only one item on today's blog and it is because Clubs are deserving of its own individual blog post. That is how important clubs are for students at school. All clubs for session 1 are 16-week programs. Session 1 clubs run from the last week of September into January. We are now offering more fun activities for students after school than ever before.

There are so many reasons to participate in clubs, that include but are not limited to:

  • Socializing with peers
  • Exploring new opportunities and learning new skills
  • Building positive relationships with school staff and the school itself
It is well known that students who engage in extracurricular activities at school outside the classroom build a positive relationship with learning, school, and education. Students become more curious and oftentimes see improvement in their progress and success in the academic classroom. Since missing time at school during the pandemic, it is more crucial than ever for students to engage in fun activities at school.

We are so fortunate in Mashpee to have clubs after school that are free for students, and there is a FREE LATE BUS for students after clubs to get them home.

Please know that clubs end at 4:20. Parents who pick up, must be on time to pick up their students from clubs. Other than in rare cases of emergencies, if a parent or guardian arrives after 4:25 their child will not be able to participate in the club the following week. If it happens again, the student will not be able to participate for the rest of the session. Thank you for understanding the importance of allowing our staff to leave on time at the end of their work days.

Please encourage your child to sign up for a club and/or sign them up for a club you think they will enjoy. Have your child talk to friends about signing up for the same club and try an offering together.

Clubs fill fast, so you'll want to sign up your child as soon as possible. All the offerings are explained on the Google form for sign-up that is included here: Click here to View Fall Clubs and Sign Up

If you are having any trouble signing up, please email Ms. Ryder in our main office. Her email is fryder@mpspk12.org .

It’s GREAT to be in MASHPEE,

A Connected Community.
