Puzzle Pieces - I FIT AT MPS

On Monday, the entire Quashnet staff was back together as an entire team to get ready for the 2023-24 school year. Going along with this year's Mashpee Public School theme, "I FIT AT MPS", staff created illustrations on puzzle pieces that represent themselves. All the pieces made by staff will be assembled together to make a puzzle. The staff puzzle will hang in the front area of the school year.

All students in the first couple weeks of school will do their own puzzle pieces in homeroom. Homeroom classes will put the pieces together, representing all the students in the class, and display their class puzzles in the classroom for the entirety of the school year.

Music Ensembles for Students!

In grades 4,5 and 6, students are encouraged to participate in the Music Ensemble Program. Music Ensembles at Quashnet include Chorus, Band, and Strings. These groups meet during the Integrated Arts block once a week by grade and are optional for all students.

Instrument lessons are incorporated into the general music block during the school day. More detailed information about the program will be sent to families this week on Tuesday, September 5, and shared with students on Friday, September 8, when they will have the option to sign up for a music ensemble. Students who choose Band or Strings will need to have their own instruments, and the school will provide opportunities for students to rent these instruments.

Please take time this week to talk to your child about the opportunity to explore music through the music ensemble program.

BUS ROUTES Linked below are our SY 23-24 bus routes.  If you

have any bus questions, please direct them to Margaret Messina in the superintendent's office at mmessina@mpspk12.org or by calling 508-539-1500, ext. 4230.

The routes are also posted on our website: https://www.mpspk12.org/district/transportation

Parent Pick Up and Drop OffDuring drop off, students cannot exit their parent's vehicles until signaled by the staff member outside which will usually be me. I had originally said 8:50, but it will be closer to 8:52 that students will be allowed out of vehicles. During pick up and drop off, pull all the way up to the car in front of you. When arriving early for pick up and drop off, please turn your car off and do not idle.

Club SignUps this Week

Students are encouraged to sign up for clubs. Our program has grown this year, and we have so many amazing offerings for students! Club sign-ups will go out this week electronically on a Google form. After school, late buses will bring students home and are free. Clubs run from 3:35-4:25. Check the club's tab on the blog for the complete list of fall clubs.

Back to School Barbeque!

This Friday, September 8th from 5:00pm-7:00pm is the back-to-school BBQ on the field between Quashnet and KCC. All families are invited, and it is free for families. Please come out, eat good food, and celebrate the start of the school year!

It’s GREAT to be in MASHPEE,

A Connected Community.
