Happy Easter! I hope you all had a great weekend and ready for a busy and productive week ahead. It is hard to believe that this week will welcome April.

On Monday, March 28th, all students at Quashnet will be participating in a mock English Language Arts (ELA) PARCC test. With new Chromebooks and upgraded wifi, we need to test our wireless capacity. Our hope is for all students to test simultaneously. Students will take a 20 question practice test that will not be scored or reported on, but it will provide students with an understanding of the assessment. We view this as a teachable moment; teachers will be able to assist students with questions and technology. Tuesday evening is the second session out of four in Guiding Good Choices, a seminar for parents presented by Gosnold on Cape Cod. The sessions provide parenting strategies and discussions on helping to keep your children drug and alcohol free. This Tuesday, 3/29/16, you can participate at MMHS from 6:00-8:00 PM. This Friday, April 1, during lunch periods, students will be recognized for academic effort and perfect attendance. Dog tags will be awarded to selected students. Being a Growth Mindset school, it is effort that makes a difference in a child's success.The Falcon Award (formerly known as the Good Egg Award) will also be given to this term's nominees. Parents of the Falcon Award recipients will be notified prior to Friday.
Now for some fun! It is time to come out and support Quashnet staff and parents in their (soon to be) victory over KCC staff and parents in the first annual PTO Basketball game.
