November 9, 2015

 Dear Quashnet School Community,

Quashnet School has a proud tradition of honoring men and woman who have served our country.  On Tuesday, November 10th students will be a part of that rich tradition that recognizes sacrifices our veterans have made for our freedom.  Please encourage students to show their patriotism that day by wearing red, white, and blue. There will be no school on Wednesday, November 11th  in recognition of the Veterans Day holiday.  This beautiful picture is from the National Cemetery in Bourne - a worthwhile visit to honor those who have served.

Thank you so much for supporting the Quashnet School book fair.  It was quite a success and it couldn't have been done without you and our amazing PTO.  It was great to see so many families who were able to join us for breakfast.  We are very fortunate to have Mr. Gus and Wendy and the food service staff! Be sure to check out the photos for the week.  I wasn't able to get everyone, but there are some great family pics!

Have you scheduled your parent-teacher conference yet?  I hope you have been able to get on signupgenius and book time with your child(ren)'s teacher(s).  If not, I am including the link again this week for your reference.  If you have  had any trouble at all, please do not hesitate to send me an email or stop in and we will be sure to help.

Parent-teacher conferences are very important time to connect with your child's teacher.  Being prepared with questions or concerns will allow you to get the most out of your time together.  "Be Heard" is from the Harvard Family Research Project, Graduate School of Education.
Having a strong home-school connection supports students' academic success.

Have a wonderful week everyone, and be sure to thank a Veteran!

Respectfully,
Mrs. O'Brien
