November 22, 2015

Greetings Quashnet School Community,

Tomorrow, Monday, November 23, is once again an EARLY RELEASE DAY for students.  Dismissal is at 11:30 AM.

It is the final day for PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES,  and there is still time to schedule an appointment if you haven't.  Please click the following link to check the availability of your child(ren)'s teacher(s).  http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0c48a4ae2ea6fc1-november  Should you need support, call the office and we are happy to help (508-539-1550 x4100).

It is important to note that we only schedule one conference per year, but as a parent it is
important to maintain contact with teachers.  Your child's success is important to us and
by working together, it is always better!

This is a very short week!  Monday is a half day and Tuesday is a full day of school.  School will be closed Wednesday-Friday in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.  There will be NO AFTERSCHOOL activities on Tuesday, November 24th, and there will be no late bus available.  For other important happenings please be sure to check the "This Week" tab of the blog.  The schedule includes happenings through December 4th.

5TH AND 6TH GRADERS, are you ready for BASKETBALL?  Basketball intramurals begin Tuesday, December 1. To register go to:  https://www.familyid.com/

The schedule is as follows:  Grade 5 Girls:   Tuesday 2:50-4:00 PM

Grade 6 Boys:   Friday 2:50-4:00 PM

There is not a late bus available for athletes.  Parent pickup is required.  Please contact Mr. Morris should you have any questions  (cmorris@mashpee.k12.ma.us).

Our talented musicians have a recital night on Thursday, December 3 at 5:15 PM.  It is a wonderful night to see our students shine.  Hope to see many of you there!

Congratulations to the Mashpee High School football team who are on their way to the Superbowl! I highly recommend if you can attend the game at Gillette Stadium on December 5th to do so.  This is a great family event and there is nothing like Falcon Pride on the jumbotron!  GO FALCONS!

Speaking of Gillette Stadium, raffle tickets are still available for the New England Patriots basket that includes tickets to a Pats game.  Tickets are available the day and night of conferences and all week at the Quashnet School Office.  All proceeds go to support the Quashnet School Falcon Family Fund. The drawing is on Friday, December 4th.

I wish you all a wonderful, long, and relaxing weekend with family and friends. Thanksgiving is the time to reflect on all the things we are thankful for.  I recognize how fortunate I am to be able to spend my day surrounded by amazing students and a staff that is so supportive and giving. I am thankful to be a part of the Quashnet School!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Respectfully,
Mrs. O'Brien

PS If you can't find your turkey this Thursday, it may be disguised!
