Greetings Quashnet School Community,

A huge THANK YOU to Deb Flaherty, Heather Lakatos, Jen and Robert Blackburn, Laura Fancher, and Liz Chapman for organizing the Welcome Back BBQ last Friday night.  What a fabulous night to bring the school community together.  Thank you to the staff from both the KCC and QS for helping, Mr. Gus Stickley for his food expertise and support, the sheriff's department for the tent, Mashpee High School students who face painted and monitored games, and all the parties that participated in making this such an OUTSTANDING event. Parents chatted, laughed, met neighbors, students played pick up games, danced, juggled, and just ran around in a field like kids should!   It was also great to see so many of you make it to MMHS for the football game showing that Mashpee Pride! WOW - LET'S KEEP THAT SPIRIT GOING!

Overall, last week was a busy one.  The staff and I appreciated you all coming to Open House Thursday night.  I hope you were able to learn a lot about expectations and understand what your child's school year will look like.  As I shared during the community meeting, the single most important thing you can do to support your child's learning is to have them at school everyday for the entire day.  Only assignments can be made up, not the discussion, questioning, sharing of ideas, or receiving quality feedback - where the depth of learning takes place. If you were not able to attend, please be sure to reach our to your child's teacher. Together, we will always accomplish more.

Please be sure to check out the schedule for the week on "This Week" tab above, and as always, should you have any questions or concerns be sure to reach out!

Respectfully,
Mrs. O'Brien
