Grade 3 One Room School House & Grade 6 Courtroom Field Trips

These two field trips are underway with our first third and sixth-grade classes going this past Friday. The other five classes in both grade levels have their trips coming up in the next two weeks. Students go with classes, so please make sure to check the dates at the end of the blog to ensure you know when your child's trip is happening. Additionally, please return all permission slips as soon as possible to your child's teacher.

Fifth Grade Science MCAS

We are so close to wrapping up MCAS for the school year, but we do have one more important test for fifth-grade students. This week on Tuesday and Wednesday, fifth-grade students will participate in Science MCAS. Students should try their best and take their time to show off everything they have learned over the past few school years in Science classes.

Mashpee Wampanoag Courtyard Grand Opening

For a couple years now, many Wampanoag students, led by Mr. Darius Coombs from the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe education department have been working to build a traditional Wampanoag exhibit in one of the Quashnet Courtyard. The exhibit includes a traditional Weetu made from bark. Prior to this week's school committee meeting on Wednesday, May 15, is a grand opening of the exhibit from 4:30pm-5:30pm. All are welcome to join us at Quashnet for the celebration.

Yarmouth Minute Men

This past week, the Yarmouth Minute Men came to Quashnet to engage with fifth graders in learning about traditional colonial activities. It was a success with many students getting to play games and see artifacts, including a cannon replica from the 1700's.
