Math MCAS this Week

This Tuesday and Wednesday, (May 7 & 8) is math MCAS for all grades. Please talk to your child about doing their best on the test. Students and teachers have worked hard this year to learn and teach, and now is an opportunity for us to show off our hard work in math as a school!

Grade 3 Step Up Night!

It's an exciting time for students, with fun activities filling the end of the school year, summer approaching, and beginning to think about transitions for next year. This past week, paper copies of the flyer below were sent home with all of the KCC second graders, who will be joining Quashnet as third-grade students next year.

Many of you have children who will be in grade 3 in Quashnet next year, and several of you are related and/or have friends whose children are a part of our incoming class for 2024-25. Please help spread the word. See the information below.

Spraying Fragrances is not Allowed in School

After the first incident at school a couple months ago involving a fragrance in the form of cologne being brought into the school building and sprayed by a student, I was hoping this issue would not become a trend. Unfortunately, I need to share with the Quashnet community, that this act among students has become a recurring issue.

Cologne and other spray fragrances cannot be sprayed in the school. Because of this, I highly recommend all fragrances and sprays with scent are left at home.

In enforcing the school committee's policy at Quashnet, if a student sprays perfume, cologne, or any other fragrance inside (the school, a bus, etc.), it will be confiscated and the student will face disciplinary consequences.

Sixth Grade Court Field Trip

The annual court field trips sixth-grade homerooms attend are on the horizon. This trip is well thought of by the community and has many positive reviews from forming sixth-grade students. On Friday, this week, May 10, our first sixth-grade homeroom, Mrs. Cook's class is set to go on the trip.

Yarmouth Minute Men

The Yarmouth Minute Men visit Quashnet every year with activities for fifth-grade students to participate in to go along with their major Social Studies unit, "Events Leading up to the Revolutionary War". The Yarmouth Minute Men will be setting up in front of the school building and coming to Quashnet this Friday, May 10, and all fifth-grade students will participate. They come with artifacts from the 1700's and other reenactment opportunities for students to interact with from this time period.
