A Fourth-Grade Student's Great Achievement!

Quashnet Fourth Grader, Isabella Loomis was published in the February 5 edition of Scholastic News. She is featured in the article "Should Kids Have to Volunteer?" Her stance on the issue was, "Yes, because volunteering helps kids learn skills, like how to work well in teams." Izzy wrote to Scholastic a little over a month ago answering the question, responding with a 100 word essay. She was chosen to be featured in the print and online newsletter! Congratulations Izzy!

STEAM NIGHT APPROACHING!

Mark your calendars now for the night of February 29th! It is STEAM night, which in the past has been our best-attended evening event of the school year. All families of Quashnet Students are encouraged to come. The event runs from 5:30pm-7:00pm and includes several exciting activities run by volunteers from our community and staff members. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math, and all the activities are tied to at least one of these categories.

Some of the stations this year include, Marshmellow Shooters, Robotics, Rocket Launching, and Virtual Reality goggles to name a few. There will be over 30 stations for students and families to experience. I hope to see you all there!

K-Kids & The American Heart Association

This week K-Kids helped Quashnet School kick off the year’s Kids Heart Challenge! We’re encouraging everyone to fundraise for the American Heart Association and to take the time to complete Finn’s challenge to learn hands-on CPR! Students can earn prizes for raising money and awareness for heart health for all. Students received flyers this week with information and there was a presentation at lunch on Thursday.

February Break Reading Challenge

February Break is almost here! Students are once again encouraged to make time to read during vacation. This time students may choose any four activities to complete. Parents/guardians will need to sign each heart activity that their child completes.
