Last Week of Session 1 Clubs

This upcoming week, January 22-26 is the last week of session 1 clubs. There is no theater this week.

Session 2 Clubs

Session 2 clubs start the week of January 29-February 3. This week, before the start of these clubs, students will get written notifications to bring home to parents of what clubs they are scheduled for, for session 2 clubs.

Attendance Update from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education

"School attendance levels have improved since the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic but are still below what they were before the pandemic began. At a time when students are still struggling to recover academically and need the support that schools offer, too many students are absent.

To help get students back in the classroom, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) has launched a multilingual campaign that includes a television and radio public service announcement featuring Education Secretary Dr. Patrick Tutwiler, billboards and transit ads, email, and social media messages. Many of the messages refer to resources DESE offers to schools and districts related to chronic absenteeism, including family engagement resources, guidance on attendance policies and best practices for schools (download), and information on initiatives designed to promote welcoming and supportive school environments for all students."

Program of Studies Night at the High School!!

Sixth-grade students and their families are encouraged to attend the Program of Studies/Open House night at MMHS being held on 1/30/24 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet the MMHS staff and be introduced to the course offerings at MMHS, as well as the numerous extracurricular opportunities that MMHS offers. We welcome you to join us for this informative and important evening in preparation for next year! We are so excited for our current 6th graders to attend MMHS in the fall!

To promote Program of Studies night and connect with all the sixth-grade students, MMHS Principal, Mrs. McSweeney will be visiting the 6th grade classes on Tuesday this week, January 23rd.

Fifth and Sixth Grade Social

Fifth and Sixth-grade students are invited to a winter social on Friday, February 2, from 6:00-7:30pm. Next week, students will bring home a form to RSVP. This is a fun night with games and other opportunities for students to socialize in a safe environment. Students who are attending must RSVP!

National Elementary Honor Society

I'd like to congratulate our students who were inducted into the National Elementary Honor Society this week! These 10 outstanding students have made a commitment to achieve high academic standards and be positive citizens in the Mashpee Community.
