January 23, 2022

Dear Quashnet School Community,

It is KINDNESS WEEK at Quashnet School.  Although we want to be KIND every day, this is a week we highlight and recognize the positive impact that we CAN have on one another.

The best thing about KINDNESS  is that EVERYONE can give it.  It's free to give, share, and exchange.

The Quashnet School Student Council is leading this year's charge for KINDNESS.  Students and staff are encouraged to show their support by participating in a school-wide spirit week.

The Quashnet School PTO is sponsoring two virtual assemblies on Monday, January 24. One for Grades 3&4 and one for Grade 5&6.

Corey the Dribbler, a former member of the Harlem Globetrotters, will be sharing the importance of Being Ready, Responsible, Respectful, and Reading! We are looking forward to meeting Corey and learning about his twist on 3 of our Falcon Five traits and on being KIND!

KINDNESS bingo was presented to the students last week by the QS Student Council during lunches.  All students are encouraged to participate in this school-wide fun.  Students are asked to perform random acts of kindness for others all week based on the suggestion on the bingo board. The activities can be completed at home and in school. Students will earn prizes for completed game sheets that are turned in to their homeroom teacher. This is a student lead initiative to encourage and celebrate KINDNESS. These students are Falcon Five Leaders for sure!

I challenge our entire school community to be deliberate in sharing kindness. In the halls, classrooms, grocery store, buses, drop-off line, on social media, on the phone, to a family member, a friend, a teacher, nurse, lunch lady, or a stranger -

ONE KIND WORD CAN CHANGE SOMEONE'S ENTIRE DAY...

for both the giver and receiver.

Kindness IS contagious!
