Book Fair Update

Losing two days of school this week was certainly a challenge for the PTO and scheduled book fair visits.  As a result, the fair will be extended through Monday and Tuesday.  Below is this week's schedule for classes who missed their time to visit the fair.

  • Grade 6  9:30-10:15 Geggatt Monday, Baccaro Tuesday
  • Grade 5 10:30-11:15 Mayen Monday, O'Connor Tuesday
  • Grade 4  1:05-1:50 Gorman Monday, Jones Tuesday
  • Grade3 1:55-2:40 Stickley Monday, Manning Tuesday

Thank you to all who participated in the book character pumpkin decorating challenge. There are pictures on the photo tab above showing the creativity of students and families.  THANK you for sharing! Everyone enjoyed looking at these fun creations. All participants were entered into a drawing to receive a voucher for the fair. Congratulations to the following lucky students:  Esme Milde Grade 6, Callie Dunn Grade 5, Kai Dailey Grade 4, and Nicolai Avant Grade 3.

A very special shout out to the PTO and Mrs. Pons for all of their work in bringing the book fair back this year. Not only is it time-consuming to plan but it also requires staffing throughout the days it is open.  THANK YOU, Amber Smith, Kim Santos, Brianna Cavaco, and Mrs. Pons for all of your support.

Do you know Jiji?  Click on this link,  ST Math, and learn about a WHY and HOW your child learns math Jiji style!  At Quashnet School, students are working hard to complete puzzles while building their conceptual understanding of grade-level math concepts.  Learn about Jiji and how you can help support your child in developing mathematical skills while using ST Math.

Thank you, Mrs. Pimental, one of our ST Math Champions, for sharing weekly updates coming to the QS Blog!

Last week's storm was quite a blow. From hearing and living through power outages, no water for some, and tree damage across the town, it was a challenging few days. I hope you are all back to full service and back to normal! If you did not receive an automated call from Superintendent DeBoer regarding the school closings, and you would like to, please let the QS office know (508-539-1550) and we will explore why you did not receive it. Automated calls are delivered from the numbers associated with a student in PowerSchool. Let us know if your number needs to be updated.

These pictures are of our front trees before and after the storm -

Wishing you all a calm and SUNNY week ahead!

Respectfully,
Principal O'Brien
