Dear Quashnet School Community, 




Happy Memorial Day, the unofficial start of summer, and the official day to remember those who have sacrificed so much for so many. Thank you all sailors and soldiers on this Memorial Day. We are grateful to those who serve, served, and remember those lost.  





Oh my gosh it was FABULOUS to see so many of you last Thursday!  We were all so happy to see you and reconnect in person!  I just love to see those smiling eyes. I even have some pictures to share on the photo tab above.  Be sure to check it out. 

We have scheduled a second distribution of student belongings for Monday, June 1 between 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM and 4:00 - 5:00 PM for those families not able to come last week.  Thank you Stop and Shop for providing the bags! 

I have received several emails and questions last week regarding the last day of school. The last day for the 2019-2020 school year is June 18, 2020. To recognize the end of the year, please join us for an end-of-the-year drive-through event at all three Mashpee schools. Staff members will be positioned around the outside perimeter of the building (with physical distancing) on that last day between 1:00 and 2:00 PM. The driving route will be marked. We have a special thank you and happy summer gift for students ad staff to remember this very unique school year. Join the fun!

Yearbook Update - We received this notification from Lifetouch, the company that publishes the Quashnet School yearbook.  Not to worry, we will be sure to get yearbooks to students who have ordered one. 

"We are doing our best to keep the original timeline of your delivery; however, I am unable to fully commit to that date. Currently, our yearbook plants are open and printing, but may be running on a reduced staff to adhere to social distancing mandates necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic." LifeTouch

A Couple of Important Reminders 

The MPS Meals-To-Go distribution for this week is on Tuesday, May 26 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the Quashnet School due to the Memorial Day holiday. 

QS Virtual PTO Meeting on Zoom, Wednesday, May 27 @ 6:00 PM.  Send an email to mobrien@mpspk12.org for the access code.

Parent/Guardian Meeting on Zoom this Thursday, May 28, 2020, @ 7:00 PM  with the Quashnet School counselors on Supporting My Whole Child (social-emotional supports, and providing social opportunities while maintaining social distancing). Look for an email from Assistant Superintendent Hope Hanscom for joining the meeting or contact her at hhanscom@mpspk12.org. 

Please note that Monday, May 25, 2020 virtual school will NOT be in session as we observe Memorial Day. Teachers and staff will resume their school schedules on Tuesday, May 26th.
