Dear Quashnet School Community,
I'm happy to share that school is off to a great start this year. It's hard to believe we've already had 16 school days, and inside the halls and classrooms of Quashnet, students and staff are already in a nice rhythm and routine with learning.
We are super excited to welcome parents and guardians of all our students into our school this week for our Open House, this Thursday, September 28 from 6:00pm-7:30pm. When you arrive at Quashnet, we ask that you arrive promptly at 6:00pm for a few quick words in the gym from myself, and our Assistant Principal, Mr. Kehrl. You will then have an opportunity to spend time in your child's classroom and hear from their teachers.
A few reminders for the Open House:
1. Children should not come to the Open House. This is a time for parents and guardians to learn about their child's class and school. Please do everything you can to find childcare for your children and leave them at home.
2. Open House is NOT a parent-teacher conference about your individual student. Parent-teacher conferences will occur later in the fall, and that will be your opportunity to discuss your child with their teacher. Open House is about seeing the school, and the classrooms, and finding information about how your child's day will look like this school year and what they learn. You are encouraged to ask questions of staff, and please make sure the questions have to do with the school and apply to more students than just your own.
3. There will be many tables to visit at the open house about various events and groups functioning within Quashnet. You are encouraged to speak to these folks at the tables and get involved with our school.
When picking up your child at the end of the day, you MUST stay in the parent pick-up line. A few parents have gotten out of line, drove to the front of the school, and gotten out of their cars. This simply is not fair to the people picking up students who are following the expectations and waiting in the pickup line. If you feel that you do not have time to wait in the pick-up line, I encourage you to have your child ride the bus. All students in Mashpee have an opportunity to ride the bus for free.
It’s GREAT to be in MASHPEE,
