Greetings Quashnet School Community,

What a beautiful day and the week ahead looks even nicer!  With these sunny days, jackets, sweatshirts, etc. often seem to be left at school or on the field.  The lost and found is overflowing! If your child is missing anything, please encourage them to look for any missing items during their lunch period.  If you are at school, we will be happy to give you a visitor's pass to go check it out. We are running out of room!!

The sixth grade students were welcomed back to KCC last Wednesday to read with first grade students in honor of Read Across America.  What a wonderful event - check out more great photos on the tab above. Thank you Mrs. Jones and Mrs. McBrien for organizing this event!




Students are being introduced to the PARCC practice tests in
library/computer class. Thank you Mrs. Nelson and all teachers for helping to familiarize students to the computer based features of the assessment. All students will be taking the PARCC Assessments in both ELA and Math during the month of May.  The following link will bring you to the sample test items by grade.  Students are allowed to wear ear buds or head phones to test and a mouse is a great accessory for the Chromebooks.   http://parcc.pearson.com/practice-tests/

There is something new at the Quashnet School this week! As you know, students are recognized on a weekly basis by teachers for doing the great things that they do - following the Falcon Five, increased effort, participation in class, helping others, and many other great things. All students are given a certificate, pencil, and a bumper sticker.  We have added a choice of a bracelets or a bumper sticker for students in grades 4-6. They look great - Go Falcons! Third graders...it's something to look forward to!  Keep working hard everyone!


TRACK for fifth and sixth grade boys and girls begins this month! A notice will be sent home on Tuesday.  Be on the look out!
