A Third and Fourth-Grade Reading Challenge

Mrs. Pons, our Librarian, and Mrs. Stroshine, our Reading Specialist are sponsoring a Reading Challenge called "Fall" in Love with Books for ALL 3rd and 4th graders over the Thanksgiving Break. Challenge sheets will be coming home with students on Monday. Please encourage your child to pick three of the activities to complete over the long weekend. If they complete the challenge, their name will be displayed on the wall outside the Superintendent's office and they will receive a small prize.

Athletic Department Positions at the High School

The Athletics Department is looking for the following positions:

* Ticket takers for Thanksgiving Day (at Mashpee High School 9:00-11:00). Pay is $40.

* Clock operator for all boys and girls basketball games at all levels.  Total number of home games in basketball will be 70.  Pay is $40 per game.

If you're interested please reach out to the athletic director, Mr. Triveri at mtriveri@mpspk12.org.

No Clubs this Week

Given that this week is a two-day week, prior to Thanksgiving break, there are no clubs this week. There are no clubs on Tuesday.

Volunteers for the Ticket Store

We are seeking two volunteers to help us run the ticket store on Thursdays during lunches from 11-1. Students earn the right choice tickets throughout their day here for following all the Falcon Five expectations. This is particularly supportive and fun for grades 3 & 4, and several 5th and 6th graders enjoy the tickets as well.

Unfortunately, we haven't been able to have the store open consistently on Thursdays, and this hurts the validity of the tickets for students. If you are interested and able to support our school in this capacity, please email me directly at eswitzer@mpspk12.org. We will show you all the ins and outs of the ticket store and how to run it. There is no money involved, students exchange tickets they've earned for prizes.

Staying Healthy During the Winter Months

With the holiday season around the corner, now is a good time for families, students, and educators to get their COVID-19 and flu vaccinations if they have not already. More information is available on the Department of Public Health’s website.

Native American Assembly

On Tuesday this week, students experienced a Native American Assembly featuring Cameron Greendeer and his dancers from the Mashpee Wampanoag tribe. These dancers perform at many schools, but it is unique when they perform at Quashnet because 7 of the dancers are also students here. Students were engaged and interested when watching the performance. There are many videos and pictures featured in the Google Album.

Two Day School Week

We have school this week on Monday and Tuesday. There is no school on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday (Nov. 22-24).

Trimester 1 Report Cards Upcoming

Please be aware that grades close for trimester 1 on Friday, December 1, 2023. Report Cards will be issued to parents and guardians on December 11.

It’s GREAT to be in MASHPEE,
