Dear Quashnet School Community,

It is hard to believe we are a month into school and that it is already October. School certainly feels like it is in full swing. Clubs started this past week, and it was super exciting to see students in school engaging in fun activities with their peers.

Our new pickleball, tennis, and basketball courts outside look fantastic, and students were playing on them at recess this week.

I also want to thank everyone who joined us for our open house this past week. It was successful with many families attending. If you have any questions for staff, or could not attend, and want to see the school, please reach out to the main office or your child's teacher.

Late Bus Situation

It was the first week on the road this week for late buses after clubs. We have more students than ever taking clubs which is amazing! We are so happy that so many students are partaking in the extracurricular activities offered after school, however, this, among other variables, led to the late buses to get students home quite late on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday, late buses were much improved.

That being said, we need to ask you to rethink why your student rides the late bus. If you have the ability to pick your child up by 4:30 after clubs or can participate in a carpool with other families, I encourage you to do so. The late buses should be utilized for students who cannot get transportation home after clubs, and truly need the bus in order to participate. This will help get all students home sooner following clubs.

If you want/need to change your child's dismissal plan, because you originally selected "late bus" and now will be picking your child up, please let us know by emailing the QS attendance line @ qsattendance@mpspk12.org
