Dear Quashnet School Community,
Last week sure was a busy one! We had 10 chickens hatch in Grade 5. Mrs. Porter's Grade 3 class was our final group to tour the One Room School House in Mashpee and the Wampanoag Museum. The Grade 5 vs Grade 6 school soccer teams went head-to-head last Monday. Students and families enjoyed an excellent performance of The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood by the Quashnet Theatre Club. All grades enjoyed field day competitions between their grade level peers, ending in an exciting Grade 6 run to finish the festivities. Grade 5 also tested their underwater rovers at the Willowbend pool on Friday. Be sure to check out the 600+ photos on the tab above.
We are very grateful to the Willowbend community for allowing Grade 5 students to test their underwater rovers in their beautiful facilities. As shared by fifth-grade teacher, Mrs. Mayen, "Our fifth-grade students have spent the last three weeks building SeaPerch underwater rovers. Students designed, built, tested, and rebuilt rovers made of PVC pipe and powered by motors. Students learned to problem solve while being mentored by MMHS Tech and Engineering class members. Many thanks to the Willowbend Country Club for providing a final testing location. Because of their generosity, students were able to test their rovers through a number of challenges and have a fantastic culminating experience."
There are several videos and multiple pictures from the trip on the photo tab above. |

I will miss you, Quashnet School community. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to be part of such an amazing staff as a teacher and as an administrator at Quashnet School. I so appreciate our students, families, and community. Thank you for your support and well wishes as I transition to the K. C. Coombs School on July 1.
