Dear Quashnet School Community,

Welcome back! I hope you all had a wonderful February break with time for fun, family, and friends.

Last Friday, Superintendent DeBoer shared some news regarding a change in administration at our elementary schools. I am very excited to share that beginning on July 1, 2023, I will be starting a new challenge as principal of the Kenneth C. Coombs School, returning to the school where I began my Mashpee career. I am forever grateful for the opportunity I have had to work alongside the professional and dedicated staff at the Quashnet School and to build positive and productive relationships with Quashnet’s amazing scholars and families. Please know that I will continue to give 110% to the Quashnet School students, staff, families, and community. I look forward to establishing a wonderful partnership with Quashnet's new principal, working to ensure a seamless transition for our students and school community. There are two family events this week.

On Wednesday, March 1, there is a PTO meeting in the main office at Quashnet @ 6:00 PM. All Quashnet community members are welcome.

This Thursday evening is our annual STEAM Night at Quashnet School. There will be multiple learning stations with hands-on activities that focus on science, technology, engineering, art, and/or math. Doors will be open from 6:00 - 7:30 PM. We are excited to welcome community members this year including the Mashpee Police and Fire departments, the Tribal Education Department, and others. Don't miss out on the fun! See you there!

Thursday, March 2, is

READ ACROSS AMERICA DAY!

We will be celebrating March 2 with "Reading Across Quashnet" where all classes will be reading simultaneously. It is also Read My Shirt Day. All students are encouraged to wear a t-shirt with (school appropriate) writing on it - Mashpee gear counts - #READ! Thank you QS librarian, Mrs. Pons, for coordinating this fun reading celebration.

MCAS dates are below. Please keep in mind that all students are required to participate in MCAS testing at Quashnet School. Every effort to have your children in school on testing dates is appreciated.
