Dear Quashnet School  Community,

Bravo Quashnet musicians! Last week, fifth and sixth-grade strings and band ensembles along with the Quashnet chorus performed in winter concerts.  Reading music and learning to play an instrument is fuel for the brain.  Keep it up! Thank you, Mrs. Hill, Mr. Felix, and Mrs. Crehan for all you do to inspire our budding musicians. Check out the pictures from Mr. Kehrl and Mrs. Geggatt on the photo tab above.

Don't miss this amazing opportunity on Tuesday, January 31-

HOW TO TALK TO YOUR CHILDREN ABOUT RACISM

Parent/Guardian Workshop with Dr. Kalise Wornum

Dr. Kalise Wornum, who is currently engaged with the District in a 3-year partnership focused on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, will be facilitating a workshop for MPS parents/guardians on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM at MMHS.  Dr. Wornum will share her knowledge, experience, and dynamic personality as she provides attendees with the strategies, the language, and the tools necessary to have impactful and productive conversations with their children about racism.  Free childcare will be provided.  This event cannot be recorded and shared, so we are hopeful you are able to attend.  A separate email invitation and a Google registration form will be sent to everyone next week.  We hope to fill the auditorium!  Through this shared learning opportunity, we will create an improved school community and an improved Mashpee community.   Learn more about Dr. Wornum

PARENT/GUARDIAN REQUEST:

Before your child leaves for school, please be sure that they do NOT  bring toys to school. To be truly present in school, the focus needs to be on learning. At recess, we have many supplies and during indoor recess, there are additional options for students to engage in. School store items, other than school supplies, go home with students. Thank you for your help and cooperation in keeping the focus on learning.

ROCK WALL HALL OF FAME

QS PE teacher, Mr. Morris, encourages all Quashnet students to persevere in trying to traverse the rock wall. This is not an easy task! Students who have achieved this challenge have been recognized since the wall was installed approximately 12 years ago, and their names are memorialized on the gym wall.

Congratulations to our current students who have met the challenge.
