December 4, 2022

Dear Quashnet School Community,

Happy December! Monday, December 5, is an early release day with student dismissal at 12:30 PM. If there is a change to dismissal plans, please be sure to send a note or email qsattendance@mpspk12.org with specific instructions. For your planning purposes, December 23 is also an early release day with dismissal at 12:30 for students.

You could be a Falcon Bucks winner! Thank you to all who supported the PTO Falcon Bucks fundraiser by selling and buying tickets. This is the one big PTO fundraiser of the year.  So far there have been four lucky winners.

Congratulations to:

Bob Bergeron - Dec. 1, Ellyn Willette - Dec. 2, Farwells - Dec. 3, Ebony Steele - Dec. 4.

Every day between December 1 and December 22, a new cash prize winner will be announced. Check for postings on the Quashnet School PTO Facebook page. I will also post the winners on Sundays. The student principal and assistant principal of the day will be announced this week.

Next Saturday, December 10, is the annual Mashpee Christmas Parade in Mashpee Commons.  I hope everyone will come out and cheer on QS student council as they are working to repeat their first-place float entry from last year. The theme this year is Home for the Holidays. Looking forward to seeing the creative float designed by the student council, Mr. Williams, and Ms. Maggiacomo. A special thank you to Botello Lumber for graciously supplying the flatbed truck that will be used in the parade.

Let's go Quashnet!

Coming December 15, 2022

I hope you will be able to join us for a family pasta dinner on Thursday, December 15. It is a great way to celebrate our school community and enjoy a meal with family and friends. Serving begins at 5:30 PM. The only cost is your time! RSVP is due this week so we can plan for food accordingly. If you lost your response sheet, a quick email to qsattendance@mpspk12.org will work.

Lifetouch photographers will be at school at 5:00 PM to take family photographs - free of charge! Pictures will be shared with you electronically. Here is a gem from Mrs. Geggatt and Mrs. McBrien from a pasta dinner past!

Get those gingerbread or sugary creations into school for December 12. No need to limit your designs to houses - be creative! It is not a contest, just fun for all. Here is a great picture from last year!

Grade 5 students are planning ahead to the spring.  After a long winter's nap, we will look for beautiful tulips and daffodils coming soon!

Have a wonderful week ahead everyone!

Respectfully,

Principal O'Brien

Thank you to our retired holiday elf, Mrs. MacIntire, who came back to Quashnet to bring a little holiday cheer to the front of the office.
