September 26, 2021

Dear Quashnet School Community,

I have a few great opportunities to share with you today

The first is a reminder about Instrument Rental Night this Friday, October 1, from 4:30 -6:30 PM. The code to order online is QS Instrument Rentals.  Band and Strings are open to all Grade 4-6 students, scholarship opportunities are available.

Opportunity #2

Two Mashpee High School seniors, Trey Peters and Kayden Eaton, have organized a lacrosse clinic for students in grades 4-9. This opportunity was initiated by MMHS graduate Caesar Hendricks, Class of 2021. Trey and Kayden have picked up where he left off and are working with USA Lacrosse who are providing a two-hour instructional clinic at MMHS. Each participant will receive a lacrosse stick and a t-shirt FREE of charge. Pre-registration is required HERE.

Opportunity #3

We are ready to begin AFTER-SCHOOL CLUBS starting the week of October 4. Clubs meet from 3:35 - 4:20 PM.

How this works

1. ALL clubs are free and require pre-registration.

2. Some clubs are limited by size, and they are filled based on a first come first serve basis. If a club is not filled, it may be canceled.

3. Students who do not get into the desired club are placed on a waitlist and we will call if space becomes available.

4. If there is an overwhelming response to a limited-size club, we may split the club into two shorter sections to allow as many students to participate as possible. Notification/confirmations will be sent home.

5. There is a late bus available for students on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  The late bus will leave the school at approximately 4:30 PM.  Since there are only two buses that cover the Town of Mashpee, they DO NOT stop at each student's regularly scheduled bus stop and there IS NOT a specific time for drop off.  The bus drivers, for example, will stop at the front of a neighborhood versus going into the neighborhood.

The time and location of dropoff do become more predictable since the same students typically ride the bus. The late bus will stop near the Boys and Girls Club for members, or students who participate in Adventure Club may report there at 4:20 PM. Parent/guardian pickup is of course available and there will be a sign-out process.

6. Pre-registration is required and a confirmation will be sent home prior to the start of the clubs.

More on Clubs:

Some clubs are year-round and some are meeting just for 1 session running from the week of Oct. 4 through the week of January 25.  Please take a look at the day of the week a club meets and only select one club per day of the week.

Students may register for more than one club, but again, we do our best to help accommodate as many students as possible.

Creative and cleaver small group work going on in fourth grade -

Thank you Mrs. Stroshine for thinking outside the box but within the circles!
