Thank you all who contributed to the Quashnet School food drive. All the food was given to the Fill the Van campaign sponsored by Mashpee Recreation Department to bring to the Mashpee food pantry. Thank you for your generosity. We also sent out a check for $766 to the America One Appeal to support victims of the devastating hurricanes this season- thank you all who purchased a button and to the K-Kids who raised theses funds. Candy has been sent to the troops - it was mailed out last week! This makes 16 years of the QS candy collection for the troops. Approximately $1,000 has been raised to date for donations toward the Patriots basket. If you would like to make a donation and take a chance to win Patriots tickets, these funds go directly to our Quashnet School Falcon Family Fund. These funds help to support our families not only during the holiday season, but when there is a QS family in need. If this isn't evidence of a caring community, I can't imagine what is. Mashpee is AMAZING - this is families helping families. It sure is GREAT to be in Mashpee!
It was fabulous to see how many families participated in the Unplug2Talk&Play challenge. It
shouldn't be so hard to turn off technology, but it was for me too! Games were generously donated by Hasbro to support this program. Hopefully you were able to enjoy some uninterrupted time together. Keep it going - increased screen time at school should be balanced with less screen time at home. The variety of activities families participated in was terrific - home baking, making dinner, playing games with parents or siblings, calling/visiting grandparents, donating time, bowling, coloring and or drawing, reading independently or together. It was great to see one family goal of reading Wonder before they go to see the movie. Great ideas, great time spent, these are precious years that you never get back. Enjoy each other!
Wishing you a productive and positive week ahead.
Respectfully,
Mrs. O'Brien
