January 15, 2017
Happy Sunday Quashnet Community,
Can you believe we are already halfway through January? When there is a lot going on, time sure flies! This is another busy week here at Quashnet School. As you know, Monday is a holiday and school will not be in session. Wednesday night there is a School Committee Finance Committee meeting. At 6:30 PM this Thursday there will be an Instrumental Concert in the gym, and on Friday students will be participating in an Energy Carnival. Each grade level will spend an hour in the gym visiting various stations learning about different forms of energy and energy related topics. Students from MMHS will be working directly with our students for this hands-on learning experience. Don't forget this Friday is also a Family Paint Night starting at 6:00 PM. Pre-registration is required - 5 slots are remaining so there is still time. Use this link to register: QS Paint Night Registration.
You should have received a letter home this week from our school nurse, Ms. Moses. All fourth, fifth, and sixth graders will be participating in health screenings beginning the week of January 23rd. This is a routine practice in Massachusetts Public Schools, but if you wish for your child not to be screened, please notify Ms. Moses in writing. If there are any concerns based on the screenings, you will be notified directly.
Get your New England Patriots team gear
ready for this Friday.
Friday is NE Patriots Day at QS!
Be sure to show your team pride - wearing red, white and blue also works!

Looking forward to seeing many of you this Thursday at the Instrumental Concert.
Wishing you all a productive week ahead!
Respectfully,
Mrs. O'Brien
