This week:

Star Reading and Star Math benchmark assessments will be administered this week to all students. Star assessments are one of the tools we use to identify each student's instructional level for reading and math. Students complete Star assessments three times (or more) per academic year, in the fall, winter, and spring. Results allow us to determine a student's academic growth and progress being made throughout the year. The assessments are computer-based and take approximately 30 minutes to complete. Students can not study for a Star assessment, but it is important that all students understand how important it is to do their best and read each question thoroughly.

PTO board nomination papers should be returned to school by Wednesday, Sept. 14 and they will be forwarded to the current board. Please stop at the PTO table at Open House, 9/15, and cast your vote!

Boys & Girls Club opens on Monday - Sept. 12. If your child is planning on going to the B&G, please send a note to the teacher or email qsattendance@mpspk12.org.

Boy Scouts are sponsoring a food drive starting this week - a collection box will be in the front lobby of the school.

Looking forward to seeing you all this week!

Respectfully,
Principal O'Brien
