Has your child turned in all of their school library books yet?  Please take a look around the house and check those backpacks.  Mrs. Pons is conducting a compete inventory of the school's collection and all books need to be accounted for.  Mrs. Pons has also introduced students to the summer reading program through Mashpee Public Library.  Students need to register and log minutes spent reading.  Having your child(ren) read twenty minutes per day is an investment in their education.  It helps prevent the summer slide and students are more prepared for September when they use their skills on a regular basis. If you have any questions about summer reading please email  kpons@mpspk12.org. The link to the library is:  Mashpee Public Library Summer Reading.

Did you receive a letter from Mr. Gus Stickley regarding a balance due on your child's lunch account? Please contact food services if you have any questions.  This is important to settle any balance before the close of school.  If you are not sure of your child's status this can be checked on line or with a call to food services at (508)539-1550 x4190.

Congratulations to our recent fifth grade
graduates of the GREAT program.  We so appreciate the collaboration with Barnstable County Sheriff's Department and Deputy Cahill. GREAT is a recommended program by local agencies to assist students in making healthy choices.  Every student in fifth grade benefits from this training.  For the 2017-2018 school year we are looking to expand this program to include a family component in the evenings.  More information will be coming in the fall.

At the end of the school year, Mrs. Ann Guiggio, will be retiring.  Mrs. Guiggio has been a teacher at Quashnet for 25 years, and during this time she has touched the lives of numerous children and Mashpee families.  We all wish Mrs. Guiggio a wonderful retirement as she travels and spends time with her family and grandchildren.

We will miss you Mrs. Guiggio!

Be sure to check out the great pictures from the fourth grade trip to the Cape Cod Canal, Grade 5 photos from Colonial Day, the choral concert, super heroes and more on the photo tab above!

Wishing you all a productive week ahead!

Respectfully,
Mrs. O'Brien
