Happy Sunday Quashnet Community,
Can you believe we are already halfway through January? When there is a lot going on, time sure flies! This is another busy week here at Quashnet School. As you know, Monday is a holiday and school will not be in session. Wednesday night there is a School Committee Finance Committee meeting. At 6:30 PM this Thursday there will be an Instrumental Concert in the gym, and on Friday students will be participating in an Energy Carnival. Each grade level will spend an hour in the gym visiting various stations learning about different forms of energy and energy related topics. Students from MMHS will be working directly with our students for this hands-on learning experience. Don't forget this Friday is also a Family Paint Night starting at 6:00 PM. Pre-registration is required - 5 slots are remaining so there is still time. Use this link to register: QS Paint Night Registration.
Have you completed your School Start Time Survey yet? Last Thursday, Superintendent DeBoer sent out an email asking parents to complete a BRIEF survey to gather data on the impact of a change in school start time. If you haven't done so yet, please take the time to complete this 5 question survey. Your participation in this process is so important and valued. The results of the survey will be shared publicly. There is an anticipated vote on the school start time change at the February 1st school committee meeting. The proposed start time for Quashnet School will be 9:05 AM for the 2017-18 school year. Currently it is 8:05 AM.
Get your New England Patriots team gear
ready for this Friday.
Friday is NE Patriots Day at QS!
Be sure to show your team pride - wearing red, white and blue also works!
A very big thank you to all our Quashnet kids who donated some of their Halloween candy to the troops. We just received a note and these great pictures from one of our American Patriots thanking Quashnet and the K-Kids for their support and well wishes! Mashpee cares!
Looking forward to seeing many of you this Thursday at the Instrumental Concert.
Wishing you all a productive week ahead!
