May 15, 2016

Greetings Quashnet School Community,

We made it through our first week of PARCC assessments with flying colors! Students worked very hard and  with the help our our wonderful tech team, we experienced few problems with our online testing. We are not done yet though!  This coming Wednesday and Thursday, our fifth grade students will have the opportunity to share their knowledge in the Science and Technology/Engineering MCAS test.  The week of  May 24-27 all students will be PARCC testing in mathematics. Being to school on time is always important, but especially during testing.  Once a class starts testing, students cannot enter the room if they arrive late.  These are rules established by the Massachusetts Dept. of Education. Thank you for making every effort to have your children in school and on time.

On TUESDAY, MAY 17, 2016 Mashpee Town Elections
will be held at Quashnet School.

Student safety is always our top concern, and with the cooperation of Mashpee Police Chief Carline police officers will be stationed at the the front entrance of the school for the entire day. There will be police presence during student arrival and dismissal.

AM drop off:  STUDENTS WILL ENTER THROUGH THE MUSIC ROOM DOORS - not the front entrance.

Dismissal and late bus:  STUDENT PICK-UP WILL BE AT THE MUSIC ROOM ENTRANCE - not at the front entrance. A sign will be posted.

Mashpee teachers and staff are amazing! The Mashpee Teachers Association spent their Saturday selling plants to support the MHS Scholarship drive. $1000.00 was earned which goes directly to students. Plants were donated and potted by Mrs. McKay and friends.  Pictured to the right are Mrs. Donovan- MMHS, Mrs. Terrill - Tech Teacher, Mrs. Rastallis - QS, Mrs. McKay- QS, and Nurse Stacy -KCC - just some of the volunteers!

Thank you teachers and staff for supporting Mashpee students
in and out of the classroom!

Over the years the Quashnet School community has benefited from a great partnership with Dino to help support our families in need during the holidays and when families have experienced hardship or tragedy. His generosity has touched so many in the community and now he is seeking our help.
