Believe in yourself." Travis Roy

Dear Quashnet School Community,
School year 14-15 is now behind us.  I can't believe how fast the year went.  Thank you to our fabulous scholars for working hard every day, for being kind to each other, for making us laugh and smile, and for helping to make our school the best that it can be.  Thank you to our staff for consistently going above and beyond to make sure that each student's needs are met and that each achieves growth.  I am so grateful to our families for their support of our scholars and also for their support of our school.  Finally, thank you to the Mashpee community for helping us to make the Quashnet School a safe and positive learning environment where high quality teaching and learning takes place.
It has been an honor to be part of the Quashnet School leadership team for the past ten years. While I am very excited about and grateful for my new career opportunity I will greatly miss being an embedded member of the Quashnet School team.  I have the utmost respect for my colleagues.  The staff at the Quashnet School amazed me on a daily basis.  They are the most hard-working, kind, and supportive individuals on the planet.  I am very proud of my Quashnet School students.  Being a part of their daily learning journey brought me great satisfaction and joy.  They are forever be a part of my life's tapestry.
I hope that everyone enjoys their summer vacation.  Students should be reading on a daily basis and also practicing their math skills.  Families and friends should be scheduling extra time to spend together.  I hope that every single day is filled with opportunities to laugh, to relax, and to make the world a better place. Remember to tell your friends and family how grateful you are to have them in your life.  If you see someone without a smile give them one of yours.  Take care of yourself and value every moment of every day.

SUMMER READING AND MATH PRACTICE:  This year we are teaming with the Mashpee Public Library for our summer reading.  There is no specific required reading book for each grade level.  Students will keep track of their daily minutes of reading and will post their minutes to an online site established by the library.  In order to not experience a decline in reading and math proficiency, students should engage in reading and practice/application of their math skills on a daily basis--a little bit every day is much better than a lot on only a couple of days.  Information about our summer math practice expectations was included with each student's report card.   A July/August calendar handout was put in each student's report card for recording the math activities completed each day.
Congratulations to sixth grader Erica Austin for having perfect attendance during all of her 4 years at Quashnet (Grades 3 -6)!
