School CancellationsIf a school day is cancelled due to poor weather, the following school day will be the missed day in our 6-Day cycle.

 Dear Quashnet School Community,
Always click on the "This Week" tab above to be informed about the current week's schedule.
We are working very hard to get back into our learning routine.  Structure and the comfort of knowing what lies ahead help to keep our scholars focused on learning.  I am so hopeful we will get five days of learning in this week.
It is very important, both in school and out of school, that we pay attention to what we say and how we say it.  School staff and parents must take on the responsibility of ensuring that Mashpee's children know what it means to learn in and live in an environment free of racism and prejudice.  If you hear a child or an adult speaking inappropriately, take the time to let that person know that you did not like what you heard and that it is wrong.  We talk about the power of the bystander in a bullying situation to help by speaking up for the victim, by letting the bully know that what he/she is doing is wrong, and by telling someone in authority.  Well, the bystander has the same power to stop racism and prejudice in the same way.  Every person matters and should only be judged by his/her character--not by skin color, socio-economic level, academic ability, religious beliefs, ethnicity, or associations with others.  Take the time to get to know a person and always presume the positive.  By not lowering our standards and by being  "active" bystanders, we can create the kind of world we want.  Life goes by very quickly--there is no time to waste!!

SIX FLAGS--"READ TO SUCCEED" PROGRAM:  REMINDER TO STUDENTS THAT YOUR READING LOGS FOR THIS PROGRAM ARE DUE BACK AT SCHOOL BY FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2015.

SAVE THE DATE:  Quashnet's FAMILY MATH NIGHT:  Thursday, February 26th, from 6:00 - 7:30 PM.  This is always a fun event to learn/practice math skills with your family.

Be mindful and make the most of every moment of every day.  Smile as often as you can.  Let those around you know how much you value their being in your life.  Read and learn something new every day.  Be your very best you!
With Gratitude,
Patty DeBoer
