Spirit Week is Here!

Pasta Dinner

The pasta dinner on Thursday was a massive success. Over 250 people attended, from staff, to students, and family members! Please check the Photo tab in the blog for the 23/24 school year to see how the night went.

No Place for Hate Event #1

January 8, 2024, is the next half day, and we will be dedicating the morning to introducing No Place for Hate to the students and having them participate in the first of three activities we will do this year. The activity they will do in classes is titled, "The Tree of Respect". As a class, students and teachers will participate in classroom activities focused on what respect and kindness mean to them.

Additionally, that day, grade levels will meet briefly in the cafeteria to learn about the No Place for Hate program and its place this year at Quashnet.

On that day students will also have the opportunity to commit to the No Place for Hate pledge, which is included below. Students will be asked to demonstrate their commitment to the pledge by designing and creating a paper feather all about themselves. The feathers of all students and staff will be displayed in the front hallway of the building in the form of a Falcon with the pledge included. Students can opt out of this part of the day, committing to the pledge, if I hear from their parent or guardian between now and January 8, 2024. To opt your child out of committing to the pledge, please simply email me at eswitzer@mpspk12.org stating you do not want your child to make a feather.

Winter Break Reading Challenge

We are challenging students to read over the December break. Students may choose four activities in a Bingo style (down, across, diagonal, four corners) to complete their COZY Up and Read Challenge Sheet that will be coming home next week. Parents/guardians will need to sign each mitten activity that their child completes. If they complete the Challenge, their name will be displayed on the wall outside the Superintendent's office and they will receive a small prize. This is being led by Mrs. Stroshine and Mrs. Pons.

It’s GREAT to be in MASHPEE,

A Connected Community.
