June 20, 2021
Dear Quashnet School Community,
We are almost to the finish line! Monday is the last full day of school. Tuesday is an early release day for students with dismissal at 12:30 PM.
At 12:20 PM on Tuesday, our sixth graders along with our retirees will be leading all the students to the buses and then out to parent pick through the front door. Thank you in advance for your patience at pick-up this Tuesday.
We certainly lucked out last week with the weather for both field days. Be sure to check out all of the pictures on the photo tab above.
Field Day was the first time we were able to have all the students in the same grade level outside together all year. Students remained in their classroom cohorts but were able to compete against another homeroom for a couple of activities. Thank you, Mr. Morris, for planning such a fun day!
Thank you, QS PTO, for the delicious ice cream treats for students following field day. The M&M cones were a big hit!
A FEW YEAR-END ITEMS...
Any Grade 3 students with school-issued Chromebooks, including students who are 100% remote, must turn in their Chromebook AND charger by Tuesday, June 22nd.
Grade 4 & Grade 5 students, in-person and remote, must also turn in their Chromebook AND charger to their homeroom teacher by June 22nd.
Grade 6 students who are attending MMHS for Grade 7, will keep their school-issued Chromebook over the summer. Parents/Guardians must complete the Google form shared by Suzy Brooks indicating that the Chromebook is in working order. If you have not completed the form, the link is here: https://forms.gle/
Items to return to school from the blue ziplock bags -
1. School issued scissors
2. Individual student whiteboards
3. Green/Teal plastic math geometry templates
4. Math manipulatives or other special items as indicated by your child's teacher.
Report Cards will be issued to students on Tuesday, June 22nd.
They will be printed and NOT sent electronically. Report cards will be issued to remote students when Chromebooks are returned to school.
Placement information for the 2021-2022 school year will be mailed to families in mid-August.
Yearbooks were distributed on Friday, June 18th, to all sixth-grade students and to students in Grades 3-5 who had ordered a copy.
If you would like a yearbook for your child, we do have additional copies available for $20. Please send in cash or make a check payable to the Quashnet School.
Show your MASHPEE PRIDE as we head out for summer break!
Grade 3-5 students please wear your #QuashnetStrong t-shirt or any Mashpee blue t-shirt.
Grade 6 students will be given a very special parting gift from the QS PTO on Monday - it would be great to see our Grade 6 students wear it to school on Tuesday!

Have FUN with learning this summer - it should not be work, it is an adventure! Try some of these activities!
I would like to take a moment to recognize amazing Quashnet educators and staff who will be retiring this year. Each one of these individuals has made a positive difference for others- their dedication, professionalism, and positive influence on Mashpee students and families will certainly carry on for many years.
From the top left, Mrs. Lucinda McKay, Mrs. Theresa Arsenault, Mrs. Sherry Broderick, Mrs. Ellie Pagano, Mrs. Alyce Shadan, Mrs. Maura Manning, Ms. Louise Johnson, Ms. Marilyn Murray.
CONGRATULATIONS!
The Quashnet School Community is better because of their efforts. They will be missed!
This is the final QS Blog post for the 2020-2021 school year. I will be back in mid-August to share school news for the 2021-2022 season! For now...
With gratitude for your partnership and all of the support, understanding, patience, cooperation, and trust this year,
Principal O'Brien
