Dear Quashnet School Community,
Great news! Our Stop & Shop A+ membership is up to 1033 members. Our goal for October is to be 1050 members strong. Check with your friends and relatives to register their Stop&Shop cards with the A+ Program and select Quashnet School - we only need 17 more members to reach our goal. Our September earnings are $1,547.60 - let's keep it going! Just google Stop&Shop A+ or click on this link to register - https://stopandshop.com/school-rewards/. Thank you for your support!
A new safety protocol is in place at Quashnet School. Starting Monday, the new front doors will be fully operational. Both the exterior and interior set of doors are on a separate locking system. When you come to the exterior doors you will have to push the buzzer, identify yourself, and then you will be let into the vestibule. Then, once you are in the vestibule, you will have to push the buzzer again to be let into the building. If someone enters the vestibule with you, they will need to identify themselves as well. There are two cameras, one on each door. The interior door will only open if the exterior door is closed. We are fortunate to have this safety upgrade as a part of the construction project. Thank you in advance for your patience with this. Before long, this will just be the new normal!
This Monday, October 15th, is TOWN MEETING at Mashpee High School @ 7:00 PM. The $1,000 essay winner will be announced, and all 32 essays will be on display in the MMHS cafeteria. Your participation at Town Meeting matters - it is your voice and vote!
PROGRESS REPORTS - OCTOBER 17th. Do you know how to sign in to PowerSchool? PowerSchool is our data management system which allows you to monitor your child(ren)'s progress in school. Three times during the academic year, October 17th, January 23rd, and May 8th are the 1/2 way points through each of the three marking periods. On these dates, teachers will have all grades updated. This will allow you to see your child's progress half-way through the term. Progress Reports are ONLY accessed online. If you do not have internet access, please call the office @ 508-539-1550 and we will be happy to help.
We are very fortunate to start a new partnership with the Gosnold School-based Counseling Program. This community service comes to us through a grant awarded to MPS. Through the grant, we are able to have a Gosnold counselor at Quashnet two days per week. If you are interested in your child receiving individual counseling services or feel your family would benefit from support, please call any of our school counselors for a referral.
Reminder: Session 2 of Botvin Lifeskills for parents, guardians, and caregivers facilitated by Mrs. McCue, Nurse Stacey, and Deputy Cahill meets Monday, 10/15/18, in the Quashnet Library @ 5:15 PM.
Sunday is a busy night - Go PATS and Go SOX!
Wishing you a grand slam kind of week!
Respectfully,
Mrs. O'Brien
