Dear Quashnet School Community,
Another amazing group of Mashpee Graduates marched across the stage yesterday at the MMHS Graduation ceremony. We were lucky to have these wonderful people grace our halls one last time as Mashpee students on Friday during the Walk of Honor. It is such a fabulous site to see our Grade 3-6 students and teachers cheering on the graduates and sometimes siblings, as they take their "Walk of Honor." There are a couple of short videos on the photo tab for you to get the flavor of the experience.
This week brings the conclusions to after school clubs at Quashnet. The last day for ALL QS clubs in Thursday, June 7th. We also received word from the Boys and Girls Club that their last day for the school year is on Wednesday, June 6th. After some renovations they will reopen for the summer season. With all of the clubs over this week, that means the buses will be FULL again. Please remind your children, as we will too, that it is important to sit in their assigned seats and always follow the Falcon Five. If there are concerns on the bus, first talk to the bus monitor if there is one, then the driver. Mrs. Avtges is outside greeting students every morning and is always available to students. Bus safety is extremely important and everyone is responsible to do their part!

PARENT REMINDER: If you have volunteered to chaperone on any field trip, you must FIRST have a CORI completed by the superintendent's office. This takes a few days to complete - please plan ahead. This is a link to the CORI application: CORI Request Form.
Be sure to check out the beautiful visual arts display at school too. Quashnet artists have done some amazing projects with art teacher, Mrs. Richards. Look for the Q-R Code on some of the art work and scan it with your phone - you will find a message from the artist! It is wonderful to see the school come alive with student projects. We are planning to add a more permanent rotation of student art in the front foyer of the school after the window project is complete.
Check out the photo tab above, there are pictures and several videos of students in Mrs. Schreiner's class who created drawings of turtles, MMHS students turned the drawings into three forms with the 3D printer, and students are making videos of their turtles using green screen technology. This is a three-way collaboration between teachers, Mrs. Richards, Mrs. Hough from MMHS, and Mrs. Brooks, MPS Director of Instructional Technology. What a fabulous STEAM project!
K-Kids is at it again - a summer snack food food drive is underway- Please help us help others. Summer can a long season without school lunches available. All food/snack donations will go to the Mashpee Food Pantry. A collection box will be in the front lobby. Thank you K-Kids for helping others!
Best of luck to our hard working Grade 5&6 Invention Conventions participants. They will be representing Quashnet School on Wednesday, June 6th at Bridgewater State University. Good luck, Bryce, Brayden, Robee, Lucas, Emmy, Piper, Taylor and Mrs. Whiddon! We can't wait to see the Tweets and photos of the event.
Have a wonderful week ahead!
Respectfully,
Mrs. O'Brien
