November 6, 2016

Greetings Quashnet School Community,

Have you changed your clocks yet?  Time to fall back!

Important! Parents/Guardians if you have not yet updated your personal contact information, PLEASE do so as soon as possible.  In prior years, we have sent home data sheets to have you update, this year we have gone digital with this process. Please log onto https://secure.infosnap.com/family/message.aspx?code=actionprivate and enter the SnapCode that was sent to you by email from our technology director, Sean Moroney.  Updating your information is extremely important so we know how to reach you in the event of an emergency or if your child is ill. Your correct address, emergency contact numbers, and emergency pick up people are also critical.  If you need help with the process, please call the QS office and we are ready to help, 508-539-1550.

Our schedule is not typical this week.  We have full days of school on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. School will not be in session for students on Tuesday, November 8th, due to election day. Friday there is no school in observance of Veteran's Day. Quashnet students will participate in a Veteran's Day ceremony this Thursday, 11/10.  This is a proud tradition at Quashnet School and we are honored to participate in Take a Veteran to School Day that day. Thank you Mrs. Pagano, Mrs. Rastallis, Mrs. Wunder, Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Arsenault, Mrs. Blount, Ms. Sherman, and Mrs. Hill who organize this meaningful and educational event.

Have you signed up for your Parent/Teacher Conference yet?  Use this link, Conference Registration, to choose your time and date.  Conferences are scheduled for November 21st and December 1.  We are here to help if you have any questions, stop in or call the office.

It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying
breakfast last week at the Quashnet Cafe
 and visiting the book fair.
Thank you to the dynamic duo of Mrs. Flaherty and
Mrs. Johnson for all of their hard work
and to Mr. Stickley and his staff in the cafe for making the morning so tasty!

When you come to vote on Tuesday, you will see a Quashnet Team promoting participation in the Stop and Shop A+ Program. If you haven't registered your card yet, be sure to see Mrs. Emery and her team.  Last year, Quashnet School earned over $8,000 which directly supports field trips and after school programs.  The best part,  it is free to participate.  Your support is truly appreciated!

The team will also have the Patriots Basket on display that includes Patriots tickets!  We are seeking donations to support the Quashnet School Falcon Family Fund.  This project has allowed us the ability to support families during the holidays and in time of need.

If you are looking to clean out that Halloween candy - we are still collecting for the troops. Donation bags are located in the front hall.

Wishing you all a productive week ahead.  I encourage all to recognize and thank a veteran and their family for the sacrifices they have made for others.

Respectfully,
Mrs. O'Brien
